Community Guidelines

These guidelines apply to every community (Network) on Original Collectors. By creating or participating in a community, you agree to follow both these guidelines and our full Terms of Service. Violations may result in post removal, community suspension, or account restrictions up to and including a permanent ban.

1. Platform-Level Rules (Non-Negotiable)

The following are prohibited in every community on Original Collectors, without exception:

No counterfeit or misrepresented items

Do not present reproductions, fakes, or heavily restored pieces as originals. Accurate condition descriptions and photos are mandatory for any item discussion or listing.

No harassment, doxxing, or personal attacks

Treat all collectors with respect. Sharing another user's private information (real name, address, phone number, workplace) without their consent will result in immediate account suspension.

No spam or unsolicited promotion

Mass posting of identical content, uninvited DMs advertising products, and flooding community feeds with off-topic promotions are not allowed.

No off-platform payment solicitation

Do not pressure buyers or sellers to process payments outside of recorded transaction threads. Sharing UPI IDs, bank details, or payment links in community posts is prohibited — use the private messaging and transaction system.

No price manipulation or shill coordination

Using community posts to artificially inflate estimated values, coordinate shill bids, or manipulate pricing data undermines the platform's integrity and is strictly prohibited.

No harmful or illegal content

Content that promotes violence, hate speech, illegal activity, or the exploitation of minors will be removed immediately and reported to authorities where required.

No impersonation

Do not impersonate other collectors, brands, administrators, or staff. Official and Verified communities are marked with a badge — unverified communities claiming official status will be actioned.

2. Community Owner Responsibilities

If you create a community (Network), you accept responsibility for moderating it in line with these guidelines. As an owner you must:

  • Set up to 10 community-specific rules that are visible to all members.
  • Actively remove posts and members that violate platform-level rules.
  • Not use your community to benefit from, facilitate, or encourage rule-breaking behaviour.
  • Keep the community name, slug, and description accurate and non-deceptive.
  • Not transfer ownership to accounts acting in bad faith.

Failure to moderate a community adequately may result in the platform taking direct moderation action, including temporarily freezing the community or transferring ownership.

3. Verified & Official Badges

Official (Brand System)

Communities marked Official are created and managed directly by the Original Collectors team as part of the Brand System. They represent specific diecast brands (e.g., Hot Wheels, Tomica) and are pinned by default. Only platform super-admins can create or modify these communities.

Verified Community

Communities marked Verified are user-created communities that have been reviewed and authenticated by our team. Verification confirms the community is genuine, active, and compliant with our guidelines — it does not constitute an endorsement of the owner or their commercial activity.

To apply for verification, a community must have:

  • At least 50 members
  • Been active for 30+ days
  • A clean moderation history (no active reports or suspensions)
  • A clear purpose statement in the description

Apply via the community settings page. The review process takes up to 7 business days.

4. Reporting & Moderation

Every post and community has a Report option. Reports are reviewed by our moderation team with a target SLA of 48 hours. Content flagged by 3 or more users within 24 hours may be automatically hidden pending review.

Moderation actions include: warning, post removal, temporary community ban (1–90 days), permanent community ban, platform-level posting restriction, and full account suspension. All actions are logged and auditable.

5. Appeals

If your post is removed or you are banned from a community, you may appeal via our moderation appeal form within 30 days of the action. Platform-level bans can be appealed by contacting our support team at safety@originalcollectors.com. We will respond within 5 business days. Decisions on permanent login bans are final after one successful appeal review.

6. Grievance Officer (India)

7. Changes to These Guidelines

We may update these guidelines as the platform grows. Material changes will be announced via in-app notification and a 14-day notice period before they take effect. Continued use of communities after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated guidelines.
